Statins tied to lowered liver cancer risk with hepatitis C

Another benefit of statins is possibly a lowered risk of liver cancer in patients with hepatitis C. COMMENT: there is growing evidence that statins may be helpful in lowering the risk of cancer and dementia, in addition to lowering the risk of heart disease and stroke. Should everyone over 60 or 70 be on a statin? Probably not but worth a serious consideration.
